Lighting


We see this every so often . Its the result of a lighting strike. The interesting thing is the fact that most lighting is actually traveling from cloud to the cloud. But Cloud to ground also happens. The lighting we see is actually the return stroke from the ground to the cloud heating the air to 54,000 degrees F. The clap of thunder is the shock wave created by this super hetaing.
